Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup fresh mango peeled and diced
  • 10-12 fresh mint leaves
  • 1 lime cut into wedges
  • 2 oz white rum
  • 1 oz simple syrup or adjust to sweetness preference
  • Soda water to top off
  • Ice cubes crushed or regular
  • Sugar for rimming the glass, optional
  • Mint sprig or lime slice for garnish, optional

Instructions
 

  • Muddle the Mint: Place the mint leaves into a tall glass. Gently muddle them using a muddler or the back of a spoon to release their fragrance and oils.
  • Add Mango: Add the diced mango to the glass. Use the muddler to mash the mango slightly, releasing the juice but leaving some small chunks for texture.
  • Squeeze Lime: Squeeze the lime wedges into the glass, ensuring you release all the juice, then drop the wedges in as well.
  • Sweeten and Add Rum: Add 1 oz of simple syrup (or more if you prefer a sweeter drink) and 2 oz of white rum.
  • Fill with Ice: Add ice cubes to the glass, then top it off with soda water for a fizzy finish. Stir gently to combine all the flavors.
  • Garnish and Serve: Garnish your Mango Mojito with a sprig of mint or a lime slice for that extra touch of flair.

Notes

Sweetness Adjustment: Depending on the ripeness of your mango, you might need to adjust the amount of simple syrup. Taste the mixture before serving to ensure it’s to your liking.
Mint Care: Be gentle when muddling the mint leaves to avoid releasing bitterness. You only need to bruise them slightly to release the oils and aroma.
Chilled Glass: For an extra refreshing experience, chill your glass in the freezer for 10-15 minutes before preparing the cocktail.
Storage: This cocktail is best enjoyed immediately, but you can prepare the muddled mango, mint, and lime ahead of time and refrigerate for a few hours. Add the rum, soda water, and ice just before serving.
