Equipment

  • Mixing bowls (large and medium)
  • Hand mixer or stand mixer
  • Measuring Cups and Spoons
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Cookie scoop or tablespoon
  • Wire rack (for cooling)
  • Cooling rack

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter room temperature
  • 1 cup cannabutter room temperature
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts optional

Instructions

  • Prepare Cannabutter: If you don’t have pre-made cannabutter, make it by simmering butter and decarboxylated cannabis in a saucepan for a few hours. Strain out the plant matter and store the infused butter in an airtight container.
  • Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent the cookies from sticking.
  • Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, combine unsalted butter, cannabutter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Use a hand mixer or stand mixer to cream them together until the mixture is light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
  • Add Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in the eggs, one at a time, ensuring each is well incorporated. Add vanilla extract and mix until fully combined.
  • Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until combined.
  • Add Chocolate Chips and Nuts: Fold in the chocolate chips and optional chopped nuts (if using).
  • Form Dough and Bake: Using a spoon or cookie scoop, form dough balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet about 2 inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and the center is slightly soft.
  • Cool: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
